Before ordering, verify that your SIRIUS vehicle docking station has a compatible 2.5mm FM OUT connection. This product is not a satellite receiving antenna and cannot replace the satellite antenna used to receive SIRIUS programming.
FM Transmitter Antenna Installation
Follow these installation guidelines for an existing or new compatible SIRIUS Plug & Play vehicle setup.
Locate the FM OUT Jack
Find the FM OUT connection on the back of your compatible SIRIUS Plug & Play vehicle dock.
Connect the 2.5mm Plug
Insert the antenna's 2.5mm connector securely into the vehicle dock's FM OUT jack.
Route the Antenna Wire
Route the antenna wire along the dashboard or center console, tucking it into suitable seams or trim areas when possible.
Configure the FM Transmitter
Insert your SIRIUS receiver and tune its FM transmitter to the same available FM frequency selected on your vehicle radio.
Do not cut, coil or bundle the FM transmitter antenna wire. Route the cable so it does not interfere with steering, pedals, airbags, visibility or other vehicle controls. Keep the wire as straight as practical and follow the instructions for your particular SIRIUS radio system.
How the FM Transmitter Antenna Works
Many original SIRIUS Plug & Play satellite radios include a built-in FM transmitter that sends satellite radio audio to a vehicle's existing FM stereo.
The vehicle radio and SIRIUS transmitter must be tuned to the same available FM frequency. Once configured, the satellite radio's audio is heard through the vehicle's speakers.
In some vehicles, interference or weak transmitter reception can cause static or inconsistent audio. An FM transmitter antenna helps deliver the transmitter signal closer to the vehicle's receiving antenna, potentially improving the audio connection.
This antenna carries the FM transmitter signal to your vehicle's radio. It does not receive SIRIUS satellite signals. Your SIRIUS receiver still requires a separate compatible satellite antenna and an active subscription for applicable programming.
